Who We Are

The Sales Group is a 2nd generation manufacturers rep firm, with 2019 marking our 40th Anniversary.  Founded in 1979 by Jay Dougherty, the team is still led by his son Jeff Dougherty, and long time partner James Dozois.  Combining for almost 50 years of independent sales rep experience, this duo has built The Sales Group into a team-oriented agency.  In the early 2000's the agency expanded into Metro NY and Pennsylvania.  In 2018 another expansion led them into the Mid-Atlantic region, an in 2024 The Sales Group almost doubled in size by acquiring Creative Bath Sales in the Metro NY market adding an additional 3 sales reps and 1 Architectural and Design Rep.

 

Our ethical approach and professionalism has earned us a reputable position in the market with our customers, manufacturers, architects, and designers.  

 

Each member of the agency has been well trained and certified by our various manufacturers.  We participate in dealer events, CEU Training for AIA and ASID/IDCEC, and distributor sales meetings.  We participate in the International Builders Show, National Kitchen and Bath Show (KBIS), International Contemporary Furniture Fair, and Architectural Digest Show.  We are members of Decorative Plumbing and Hardware Association (DPHA).

 

For over 40 years, the agency has continually grown in sales volume.  As proponents of the old fashioned belief in “feet on the street”, we also continue to add personnel.  Our short term goal includes 2 additional sales people, and continuing to grow our A&D (Architect and Designer) presence.  

 

Today we represent some of the industry’s premier manufacturers ranging from Maine to Virginia.
